Expect old and new functionality. The store offers game browsing, Steam Guard tickets, and trade confirmation. The Steam’s mobile app now supports multiple account logins, smart notifications, and a library.
Valve isn’t ready to release the new Steam’s mobile app yet, so it’s in beta. So, “invested Steam users” can submit feedback. The beta will help Valve see how well the new features are accepted and if any are working properly. The team is also concerned about how many phones and devices it will get. Needs tablet support, even in beta.

You can join the beta now, but spaces are limited. Valve wants to know what consumers like and dislike so it can remedy problems. Knowing what has to be fixed is vital because the app must run on numerous operating systems and devices, the company says.
Valve has supplied a link to the Google Play Store to download the beta app. As of this writing, the iPhone beta programme is filled, but there are plans to add more slots. Valve suggests checking back later to see if any spots open up.
On iOS, download Apple’s TestFlight app, then beta Steam. Valve suggests joining community forums for now (opens in new tab).
To use QR code login, you must use the beta version of Steam on your desktop (opens in new tab). Go to Settings > Account > Change. To access the beta features, restart Steam. The QR code login option will be prominent upon debut.

Beta will have bugs. On Android, we had trouble signing in. It was difficult. Login issues are widespread in the forums. The rest went nicely. The app store was responsive and easy to navigate.
All announced features are present and functional. The bottom bar features a Store tab, news feed, notification area, Steam Guard (with QR code), and a settings menu. The updated Library(opens in new tab) provides access to player groups and personal gaming stats like achievements. Forums are positive, with many recommendations.
Many community members want a chat feature (opens in new tab). People want Valve to replace the mobile Steam Chat app with the new one. So people don’t switch between them to chat with friends.
When will Steam’s updated app launch? Valve will keep adding people and enhancing the beta until release.
