Sony’s Xperia 5 IV $999.99 smartphone is smaller and more cheap than the Xperia 1 IV. However, Sony’s top-notch features and specs could challenge Samsung’s $1,000 phone dominance.
Sony’s Xperia 5 IV display is compact. It is 6.1 inches across the diagonal and boasts Full HD+ quality in a 21:9 aspect ratio. The OLED panel offers HDR content and 120Hz refresh for seamless action.

Sony chose Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU for the Xperia 1 IV and future 2022 smartphones. The business claims theXperia 5 IV and 1 IV simply differ in screen size and chassis. Performance and photography should be similar.
The Xperia 5 IV has three 12MP cameras. Sony’s Xperia 5 offers ultra-wide, normal, and zoom cameras with 16, 24, and 60mm lenses. The Xperia 5 IV records crisp 4K video at 120fps. Eye focusing and object tracking are stand-alone camera features. These tools should make focusing easier.
The Xperia 5 IV has a 5,000mAh battery, wireless charging, an IP65/68 rating, and 240Hz Motion Blur reduction for smoother gameplay. The display supports 240Hz touch sampling, a feature frequently found on gaming phones that allows the screen to respond faster to touch input.
Sony’s Xperia 5 IV competes with the $1,000 Samsung Galaxy S22+. Both phones have fast processors, but Samsung’s is 50MP. Some shoppers may prefer the S226.6-inch +’s screen.
Xperia 5 IV costs $999.99 to preorder. Sony will send it on Oct. 27. It’ll be unlocked and black everywhere Sony phones are sold. Sony’s website will also sell a green version.
