Join the public beta to obtain iOS early for free. Some of your apps may not operate with the OS, and you may lose data, but joining is free. A public beta helps developers locate undiscovered bugs. If you’re an iOS aficionado, this might be a fun side project, especially if you have an older device you can upgrade. Download:
Click iOS 16 on Apple’s beta software website.
Add your device as instructed.
Install iPhone beta software.
Tap Settings, then Install the profile.
Settings > General > Software Update > Install.
When iOS 16 is published, you can wait for a pop-up alert or manually update. Backup your files before updating.
Setup > General > Software Update. Tap Upgrade to iOS 16 and then Download and Install, or you’ll be taken automatically. You’ll be asked for your iPhone passcode either way. Wait after accepting Apple’s terms.
