In order to fix a zero-day vulnerability exploited by malicious actors around the world; Google Chrome has released a new update this week. The latest version of Chrome, 103.0.5060.114; promises to fix the problem and keep its users safe.
Vulnerabilities dubbed “Zero-day” are those that are found by security researchers at the same time that hackers or malicious software is already exploiting them. CVE-2022-2294, the fourth zero-day vulnerability discovered in Chrome in 2022; is the bug in question for Google’s browser.
As the patch update was just released; Google refused to reveal how the flaw is exploited and what issues it may be causing its users. According to the company; more information will be available once more users have updated and are no longer at risk.
In order to get around the system’s security measures, it appears to be a WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communications) vulnerability.
