HUAWEI’s wearable portfolio has improved. If you want a quality smartwatch, check out the Watch GT3 Pro. HUAWEI’s Band 7 is a basic fitness tracker for those on a budget.
Finally, the Watch Fit series combines the two. The Company released HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 in May 2022, but it’s still one of the best for its price and features.
The HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 has pleased me in recent weeks. What makes the HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 unique? Our review explains.
More From Us:The Pixel 6a’s display can reach 90Hz.
The smartwatch’s distinctive size is the first thing you’ll notice. I enjoy that it’s not as big as other smartwatches but not as little as a fitness band.
The display is big enough to show all the vital information at a glance, but not so narrow that you have to bring it close to your face to read it.
It weighs 40 grammes. After two weeks with the Apple Watch Fit 2, the Series 6 felt bulky. Perfectly proportioned, the HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 It’s a comfortable, good-looking watch.
The Watch Fit 2 is offered in three styles: an Active Edition ($155/£130) with silicone straps, a Classic Edition ($190/£160) with leather straps, and an Elegant Edition ($225/£190) with a Premium Gold Milanese Strap or a Silver Frost Milanese Strap. Elegant and Classic Editions have aluminium frames, whereas Active Edition is plastic.
The package states HUAWEI delivered me the Classic Edition Nebula ‘Gray’ Watch. This colour appears gray-brown. The leather feels really expensive, and I didn’t see any scratches on the metal shell after two weeks.
5ATM water resistance means you can wear it to the beach or a shallow pool. I didn’t try it in water, but sweat didn’t damage the leather throughout workouts.
If you’re worried about perspiration or water damaging the straps, you can swap them with the Watch Fit 2’s redesigned mechanism. Two buttons on the rear of the watch release the strap so you can quickly change it (or budget).
1.74-inch AMOLED screen on HUAWEI Watch Fit 2. The second-generation Watch Fit is 18% bigger. The watch has a 72% screen-to-body ratio despite its thick bezels. A black watch face makes it look more costly.
The display’s size is perfect. All the information is clear, and the colours pop. The screen is bright enough to view notifications and workout data in direct sunshine.
Always-on mode displays minimal information when the watch isn’t being used, however it drains the battery.
HUAWEI adds the usual raise-to-wake functionality for individuals who don’t desire this option. Tap-to-wake wakes the screen when you tap it.
HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 runs HarmonyOS 2.1. The watch had to be updated four or five times before it could be used.
After that, you’ll have easy-to-use software. Anyone who’s used HUAWEI’s Watch GT series will recognise its basic touch controls and single home button. Long-pressing the side button activates the voice assistant on a HUAWEI smartphone.
Swiping right from home exposes ‘HUAWEI Cards.’ With a swipe, you may check your blood oxygen level, heart rate, stress level, or the weather. You can adjust the HUAWEI Health app’s enabled cards and order.
This smartwatch comes with several watch faces, but you can download over 200 more through the app. Long-pressing the home screen switches between them.
Tap-to-Transfer lets you transfer photographs from your phone to the watch (as watch faces) with a simple tap. A ring tool that says ‘I’m here’ helps you find your phone.
I like that the Watch Fit 2 doesn’t support third-party apps. I doubt you’ll need third-party apps since the watch has so many capabilities. The lightweight OS is lag-free.
The HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 allows Bluetooth calls, a huge improvement over its predecessor. This may sound small, but it improves the experience, especially while driving without a good microphone. You can answer WhatsApp and VoIP calls on the watch, which most Android and Apple watches can’t do (yet).
The HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 promotes fitness. The watch supports 97 sports modes, including Outdoor run, Indoor run, Outdoor cycle, Indoor cycle, Pool swim, Open water swim, and Jump rope.
The watch tracks blood oxygen levels and heart rate zone targets during exercises and sports. This smartwatch’s workout tracking includes interesting animations and pre- and post-workout stretches.
The watch also has a GPS for mapping outside runs. I went running with just the watch to test this capability (who runs without a phone these days? ), and it tracked the run perfectly. The watch takes a few minutes to establish a GPS lock and track the run.
Huawei Health. This app lets you set up and control your smartwatch and displays workout data clearly. It’s in Google Play for Android, but HUAWEI suggests obtaining it through its AppGallery. You can also acquire detailed workout data and post it on social media.
As someone who isn’t interested in comprehensive workout and fitness data, this felt overwhelming, but I can see how it would assist individuals who desire a bigger picture of their health and fitness.
Despite its modest battery, the Huawei Watch Fit 2 may last weeks on a single charge. It has a 292 mAh battery that HUAWEI says can last a week, even with vigorous use. I agree.
The watch lasted seven days on a single charge with all the health-tracking capabilities switched on, including continuous heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, stress monitoring, sleep tracking, and healthy living reminders. If you exercise every day, rely on GPS, and keep the always-on display mode activated, you may need to charge it every four to five days.
Fast charging makes up for the Watch GT’s shorter battery life. A five-minute top-up is good for a full day’s use, whereas a full charge takes 50-60 minutes.
The Watch Fit 2’s unique USB Type-A magnetic charging cord isn’t ideal. Magnetic connector with pogo pins isn’t secure, so be careful when charging the watch.
Does HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 fit? Absolutely! It succeeds. This fitness band/watch combination may be worn everywhere.
The Watch Fit 2’s features are top-notch. Accurate fitness tracking. HUAWEI crammed many of its premium smartwatch capabilities into this smaller, lighter wearable without sacrificing design or pricing.
While third-party apps and NFC compatibility for contactless payments would be nice, the HUAWEI Watch Fit 2 is a good value.
