Apple’s Fitness app requires an Apple Watch to monitor, track, and show workouts. Your watch tracks calories burned, workout duration, and standing time as rings. iOS 16 can monitor workouts without a watch.
Using built-in motion sensors, the iPhone tracks your daily physical activity and third-party app exercises. Your phone can indicate calories burnt, steps taken, flights climbed, and total distance walked for the current day, as well as past days, weeks, and months.
The iPhone lacks sensors to detect workout length and stand time, so the only ring it can handle is Move.
The Apple Fitness+ membership isn’t supported on iPhone because you require an Apple Watch.
