Spotify’s new “Friends Mix” playlist lets users find new tunes based on Blends they’ve built with friends. Blend lets two Spotify users identify where their musical tastes intersect by combining their favourite songs. This Blend adjusts everyday based on everyone’s listening habits.
Spotify users can now find new and familiar tunes depending on what their friends are listening to.
If your “Made For You” hub doesn’t have a Friends Mix, create a Blend. To invite a friend, type “Blend” in the search tab and tap “Invite.” Spotify will create a shared Blend playlist based on your and your friend’s music interests after the invite is accepted. Spotify says you’ll get a customised Friends Mix in the Made For Us hub after creating three two-person Blends.

Spotify estimates there are 11 million “friend” playlists. The business also cites a 35% growth in these playlists’ streaming in 2022 in the U.S.
Personalized playlists are one of Spotify’s main selling points and a reason it leads the music streaming industry.
The new personalised playlist launches as Blend’s playlist building tool adds more artists and allows fans to buy goods. Click the artist’s Blend link to purchase their stuff. You’ll receive a card with your “taste match” score, based on how similar your listening preferences are to the blended artist’s. After getting their taste match score, customers can buy the artist’s featured items on Spotify Shopify.
