Google revamped Gmail at the end of July, and not everyone likes it. The new colours, layout, and icons distract me. The new mail design will arrive soon.
You can change Gmail’s design with a few clicks.
Open Gmail and click Settings.
Choose “Go back to the original view.” on the panel.
Before reloading the UI, you can inform the Gmail staff why you want the old design. (I’ve included some suggestions below.)
Once you submit feedback or reject by leaving the field blank and clicking Reload, your view resets to Gmail’s prior appearance.

What should go in the feedback box?
The left sidebar feels tight. New far-left icons don’t help. Multiple shades of blue that aren’t complementary are also a problem. I think mentioning any of them is beneficial.
How to hide Gmail’s side panel
Updated Gmail’s busy. In addition to the new side panel with easy access to Chat, Meet, and Spaces, there’s also the conventional side panel with Inbox, Starred, Drafts, Trash, labels, etc. You can hide the side panel to save screen space. Click the top-left icon (right next to the Gmail logo and above the “Mail” icon). This hides Gmail’s menu. Clicking that symbol again will bring back the menu panel.
The possibility to rollback is limited, as with other web service design changes. Google will delete the opt-out option eventually. While it lasts, appreciate it.
