The phone must also be within Bluetooth and WiFi range of the PC since, while display and control happens on the PC, apps operate on the phone.

Android 7 or later is required for Android-to-Windows 11 compatibility. Windows 11 computers work. Surface Laptop 3 and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra were used to evaluate the arrangement. Phone models have more functions than PC models.

Microsoft’s phone-linking method has been streamlined. Your PC has Phone Link and your phone has Link to Windows. Link to Windows previously only worked with Samsung and Surface Duo phones (some Honor models were recently added for users in China). These models can mirror Android apps on PC. This differs from Windows 11’s ability to run Android apps on PC hardware.

You may install Link to Windows on numerous PCs for the same phone, so it will function on both a desktop and a laptop.

How to connect Android to PC

1. Launch Phone Link on Windows 11.

First page in a four-step setup process.

2. Microsoft account login.

A connected phone can do what?

The fancier services only work on certain phone models; but, connecting to any Android phone allows you see and reply to text messages; manage notifications, make and answer calls, and get images quickly on the computer.

Microsoft recently changed the app’s UI to emphasise important options across the top. However, Clicking the system tray icon displays current apps and a View All Apps link. Left-side notifications.

Phone Link’s taskbar icon displays the number of pending alerts. Therefore, You may choose which apps to receive notifications from and how to respond. The app isn’t everything. You can reply to messages in the lower-right Windows Notification toast.

If you don’t have a powerful phone, the Apps menu won’t appear.
Text messages and photographs from your phone can be seen on your PC with any Android smartphone. Even with less capable models, you can examine images on your PC after shooting them with your phone and drag them into a document or photo tool like Photoshop.
You can’t use the mouse wheel to scroll in apps. Click-and-drag instead. If you have a PC with a touch screen or trackpad, it’s close. Programs executed via Phone Link get Taskbar icons like PC apps. You can minimise, resize, and close apps like desktop apps.
