Android 13 Google Pixel Not Wireless Charging?

August 22, 2022 by Elen Page Leave a Comment

Wireless Charging

After Android 13’s distribution to Google Pixel customers last Monday, several have reported wireless charging troubles. Pixel users have been submitting their concerns to Reddit in hopes of a simple community repair, but there seems to be more at work.
Google hopes to deliver new software with no defects, but sometimes new vulnerabilities are detected after a worldwide update. You’re not alone if your Pixel has wireless charging issues.

What’s wrong?

Knowing if your phone is affected is easy. If your Pixel can charge using a wireless charger, it’s OK. If not, you may be infected.

Some Reddit comments suggest it’s a broken wireless charger, not Android 13. Some customers fixed the issue by modifying their wireless charging station’s settings, but others did not.

What Pixels are affected?

This appears to affect all Pixel smartphones. Reddit users with Pixel 4, 4XL, 6, and 6 Pro reported difficulties. I didn’t find anyone complaining about wireless charging on the Pixel 5, but it may be occurring. Any Pixel running Android 13 may be affected.

Changes
If your Pixel won’t charge wirelessly, try these solutions. First, check your wireless charger’s settings. Some users stated that emptying the applications’ storage and cache fixed their Pixel Stand troubles. Some commentators say the difficulties stopped after doing that and rebooting. Others couldn’t charge wirelessly since not all chargers had applications.

Google Pixel Stand and phone.

Reinstalling Android 12 and waiting for Google to fix it is another option. Only the Pixel 4 and 5 can revert back to Android 12, thus customers won’t be able to access the new features. You can’t go back to Android 12 on a Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro if you have Android 13.

The third method is the easiest but arguably the most frustrating: wait till Google fixes it. Google hasn’t replied to the issue yet, so a remedy may take a long. Google’s quiet may be due to the issue’s newness, but the business isn’t known for quickly fixing its software.

Hope it’s rectified soon. Google is still working on distributing Android 13 to all eligible devices, so a patch might come fast since a flawless launch is vital for its success.
